Romain Mayor
Director of Music

Swiss musician, Romain Mayor began learning music at the age of six with the piano, then went on to study singing, conducting and musicology, benefiting from the invaluable advice of musicians such as Celso Antunes, Laurent Gay, Florian Ziemen, Peter Broadbent, Florian Ludwig, Antonello Allemandi, Christian Immler, Frédéric Gindraux, Marcelo Giannini and Helmut Deutsch.

As principal conductor, he conducts the Motet de Genève, the Chœur J.-S. Bach de Lausanne, the Chant Sacré Genève and the Ensemble Post-Scriptum, which he founded. For oratorio concerts, he regularly collaborates with orchestras such as the Orchestre de chambre de Lausanne and the Orchestre de chambre de Genève, as well as various other professional ensembles in Switzerland, Germany, the UK and Japan. He also conducts specific orchestral repertoire at the invitation of the Orchestre Symphonique Genevois and the Sinfonietta Bern.

Fascinated by sacred music and convinced of the importance of playing it not only in concert but also as part of Christian worship, he taught himself to play the organ, and since 2008 has been involved as organist with various Protestant parishes, until his appointment as director of music at Emmanuel Church.

Romain Mayor studied at the Hautes Ecoles de Musique of Geneva and Lausanne, and at the Hochschule der Künste Bern. He holds a piano certificate, the Crescendo Foundation's Fritz Bach Prize, two specialized Masters degrees in choral conducting (summa cum laude) and classical singing, as well as a postgraduate diploma in orchestral conducting, obtained with top marks.

Marcos Garcia Gutiérrez

Born in Oviedo (Spain), Marcos García Gutiérrez obtained a Singing Diploma from the Conservatorio Superior "Eduardo Martínez Torner" in Oviedo, with Dolores Arenas, as well as a Konzertdiplom from the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste, with Lina Maria Åkerlund and a Master Soloist degree from the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève, with Nathalie Stutzmann.

He also holds diplomas in clarinet and as a specialized music education teacher. Additionally, he has furthered his training with Danielle Borst, Philippe Huttenlocher, François Le Roux, Vincent Aguettant, Ana Luisa Chova, and Jill Feldman.
​
His repertoire includes roles in Opera, Operetta, and Oratorio.
​
He recently obtained a Choir Conductor Certificate CH1 under the guidance of Romain Mayor at the Lausanne Conservatory.
